Abby Johnston is a certified sound therapist, trained metalsmith, discerning dabbler, and a curious soul who has a deep love of storytelling. For someone who cannot remember how to craft a good joke, her storytelling experience has earned her international exposure as the author of the highly acclaimed artist monograph, Lissa Hunter: Histories Real & Imagined, and as an illustrator of educational books for children as well as practical books on contemporary craft. This book you hold right now is her second major publication featuring a prominent Maine craftsperson.

After slinging a sawframe and hammer at Maine College of Art & Design, Abby developed her publishing chops at Brynmorgen Press, the prestigious publisher founded by Tim McCreight. She has since pursued other arts related professions such as running the front and back of the house of a custom frame shop/art gallery as well as serving as studio photographer to local artists and makers. She has returned to publishing by establishing her own boutique company, Wild Chi Press, that specializes in the subjects of science, creativity, and spirituality.

Abby lives in Southern Maine where she loves to build community and interact with the natural world through tasting, wandering, and making things.
